Biersdorf am See - "Hammer Büsch" hike
Biersdorf am See
From the Bitburg reservoir, this circular walk leads through the Hammer Büsch.
You will find refreshment stops in Biersdorf am See.
From the car park at the kiosk, the circular walk takes you halfway around the reservoir on the lakeside circular path. Afterwards you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Eifel forest. The path runs parallel to the course of the Prüm towards Hamm.
If you wish, you can make a detour to the castle. The present building, a main house enclosed by two high fortified towers, the chapel, underpinned by a late Romanesque vault, a Gothic hall, the fortified wall enclosing the castle courtyard of 3,000 square metres with outbuildings attached to the inside, dates mainly from the 14th century. The castle is inhabited and can therefore only be visited from the outside or in the courtyard. In a side wing there are two holiday flats and it is possible to have a civil wedding.
The way back also leads through the "Hammer Büsch" and along the lakeside circular path back to the starting point.
The kiosk at the main car park offers food and drinks, a children's playground and the opportunity to go for a ride in a pedal boat on the lake.
