Biersdorf am See - Hike "Hermitage
Biersdorf am See
This hike leads from the Bitburg reservoir through the Hammer Büsch to the "Einsiedelei" chapel.
There are refreshment stops at the starting point in Biersdorf am See.
From the car park at the kiosk, the hike first leads along the lakeside circular path to the dam wall. From there, continue via the car park in the direction of Wiersdorf. After crossing the Prüm, the path leads into the forest and after some time you reach the idyllic hermitage. The pious hermit Jakob Leisen lived here from 1906 to 1945. At the chapel, built in 1923, there is a Lourdes grotto from 1925 and a Marian column from 1929/30 with an accompanying Stations of the Cross with 14 stations. Afterwards, the trail leads back to the reservoir.
There is a kiosk at the start/end point. Food and drinks are available there. There is a children's playground and the opportunity to go for a ride in a pedal boat on the lake.
