GPS Bike Tour - The Kyll Valley and the Clay Pits
Bitburg
This varied GPS bike tour leads most of the way along the Kyll. From Philippsheim we ride on the Bähnchentrasse, where the Aubach accompanies us. We also pass through the Tongruben nature reserve near Speicher, which was established to protect endangered birds, dragonflies and biotope types.
Highlights along the route are the Mariengrotte Albach. Several small waterfalls flow here into the broader Albach valley. Another place that invites you to take a short break is the waterfall in Hüttingen/Kyll.
Near the Speicherer mill, the bike path passes very close to the water and with a little luck, you can spot a Kyll brook trout, a kingfisher or a gray heron here. In Auw an der Kyll, the Old Rectory with a beautiful beer garden invites you to stop and visit the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
