GPS Tour: Heights and Valleys Tour (TV Hiking Day)
Malberg
This tour was created on the occasion of the TV Hiking Day 2018 (Trierischer Volksfreund) in Malberg.
Parking is available at the community hall in Malberg. The tour first leads through Finstinger Straße, to the left into the Kyll valley. Through the "Mühlenwald", the splashing of the Kyll accompanies the hike. The path leads past Malberg Castle into Ritter-Kuno Straße. After a short stretch on the L34, you reach the forest (past Haus Hubertus). The hike leads along field paths and through the forest to the "Eisenmännchen". In addition to benches and a hut, there is a plaque with a cross on the spot where a beech tree used to stand in which the cross had grown. The Eisenmännchen is a good place for a rest. Continue via Kasholz to St. Thomas. Past the idyllically situated monastery in St. Thomas, you follow a section of the Felsenweg (Eifelverein), which leads you to the Mariensäule Kyllburg. Through the Annenberg, with beautiful views of Malberg Castle, you return to Malberg to the community hall, passing St. Quirinus Church (Malberg).
