Kunstroute Kyllburg
Kyllburg
For the fifth year, in summer 2024, a 3 km long route is planned in the Hahn Forest Park with more than 30 sculptures and installations by various artists, which can be visited free of charge from Sunday, June 9 to Saturday, October 5, 2024. In addition to the installations and sculptures, there will be several small musical or theatrical activities. There are still 20-25 works of art from previous years. The installations and sculptures are - wherever possible - made from ecological and natural materials. The art objects are created by the participating artists especially for the Kyllburg Art Route. In this way, the objects adapt to the respective installation site or tie in with local myths, stories or traditions.
We have invited another 10 artists for 2024. The theme for the 2024 art route is set by the Rhineland-Palatinate Summer of Culture: "Compass Europe: Stars of the South". The basic structure was already erected on the Stiftsberg in 2021: our Celtic compass, an installation made of large stones and 101 tree trunks. In all ancient cultures, we encounter the division into cardinal points and seasons, which is based on the natural cycle of life and decay. So we point our compass to the south and interpret the theme as "color & light". The route is signposted and easy to follow, but unfortunately not 100% barrier-free.From June 9 to October 5, route booklets will be available at the starting point (Haus der Begegnung, Marktplatz 10, Kyllburg), but they can also be downloaded from our website. Here you will also find information about the artists and their works. The tour takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. The Art Route team also organizes workshops, guided tours and events and is always happy to welcome participants and visitors. The official opening party will take place on June 9 (1.30 to 5.30 pm - times to be confirmed). The organizer is the "Kyllburg Verein(t) e.V.", a non-profit association to which several local associations belong.
