Pestflämmchenweg Dudeldorf
Dudeldorf
An old Dudeldorf legend recalls fateful times in Dudeldorf and epidemic waves in the period around 1550 to about 1640, when the plague cost many people their lives in the village. Wherever the plague raged, a small blue flame was seen.
According to legend, a courageous citizen from Dudeldorf chased the little blue flame and walled it up in a gap in the town wall. This is said to have banished the plague.
The path of the plague flame from Dudeldorf to "Kallen" is marked as a circular route and can today become a personal experience for anyone interested.
