Monday Night Jazzkonzert
Sep 1, 2025
Bitburg
The summer break is over and jazz fans are looking forward to the Bitburger Jazzclub.
The season will be opened by an ensemble from France. The Lesly Duo, Lesly Gargowisch and Railo Helmstetter, are playing in Bitburg for the first time and guarantee French flair. Lesly Gargowitsch was still a young teenager when she saw the movie "La Môme", which describes the life of Edith Piaf, for the first time. It was a revelation and Lesly decided to learn all the songs from the film by heart. She later sang the songs at family reunions and in choirs. Due to her Jewish and nomadic origins, Lesly also discovered klezmer music.
Through contact with the Travellers living in eastern France, she also discovered jazz and traditional gypsy music. It was in this Sinti atmosphere that she learned to play the guitar. She attended the conservatory in Strasbourg and was determined to refine her musical skills. Later, rich in experience, Lesly Gargowitsch decided to found the "Lesly Duo" project with Raïlo Helmstetter on guitar.
In a sensitive dialog, Lesly lays a clear voice with jazz reflections over the notes of Raïlo's guitar playing. The duo plays a highly exciting mix of jazz and French chanson.
The Monday Night Jazz will take place on Monday, September 1, 2025, starting at 8 p.m. in the Jazz Ballroom at the Bowling Center Bitburg, Charles-Lindbergh-Allee 5. admission free.
