The ideas that two guys have around a kitchen table at 2 a.m. after a long party are not always really good. But what ex-"Peilomat" guitarist and songwriter Flo Peil and singer Bastian Campmann were planning turned into something: Kasalla.

Together with old and new companions Ena Schwiers, Sebi Wagner and Nils Plum, they jumped into the rehearsal room with the plan to combine the music they love with lyrics in their native language. Now, 10 years later, the crazy idea has really grown up. The dialect: the common thread that holds everything together. And this common thread also works in unfamiliar, unexpected musical waters. After the Cologne Arena, the band's next, biggest and ultimate adventure was to take place in 2020: A concert in the RheinEnergieStadion. Over 37,000 tickets had already been sold - then a virus intervened. Fortunately, however, an alternative date was found for the time after the silence: on 17.6.2022, their 10th anniversary was celebrated in the sold-out FC soccer stadium - and with their new studio album, which was released just in time for the band's biggest concert and once again entered the top 10 of the album charts: "Rudeldiere".

The songs on "RUDELDIERE" are the result of even more intensive work than on previous albums. "We had a lot of time during these months to select songs, work on the music and lyrics and incorporate all our ideas," says bassist Sebi Wagner, describing the creation process. In addition to the title track, which deals with the search for the pack, the horde, the crew in 80s style, KASALLA's new baby once again offers the unbridled diversity of its predecessors. "It is still important to us not to be afraid to use the Cologne language as a fixed musical point. But we always sound like Kasalla," says keyboardist Rene Schwiers. Press release: February 2022 Small melancholy moments and memories such as "BUNTER HUNGK" alternate with the hopeful rock anthem "LEUCHTRAKETE" or the powerful encouragement "MIDDEN EM STURM". Also served up are "POMMES & CHAMPAGNER", which pays pop homage to differences, and the folky declaration of love "DER RESS VUN DINGEM LEVVE". As the thumping opener shouts out loud: with their new album, the five are and will remain "STILL KASALLA" even after the forced break.
